I guess not.

Its slightly schizophrenic though, British immigration policy. Free immigration, even from new member (exempted from union-wide freedom of movement), is acceptable if you’re a European Union citizen. Unless you’re simultaneously an Irish or Commonwealth citizen (i.e. from Cyprus and Malta), there isn’t a right to vote or stand for office. On the other hand, Commonwealth citizens have this right – but not the right of abode. I’ll trade my right to vote for a right of abode.
