Two days ago, I took a couple of hours off my busy schedule to have a pint of Kilkenny (was actually intending to follow that with a Guinness, but came home anyway) at Dirty Nelly’s at Marina Square.

Don’t go there.

It’s a fake Irish pub. No one shouting. No one talking loudly. No one laughing loudly. It just didn’t have that good pub vibe, especially considering it branded itself as a Irish pub. And St Patrick’s Day: it is supposed to provide ’em with an opportunity to do all things Irish: Irish folk songs, Irish dancing. You know, stuff to get people off their seats and join in the fun. Instead, they had a live band, which was good (not to the standard of Good Fellas or Ngak). But not Irish.

On the bright side, they did give me a nice Guinness St Patrick’s Day party hat.
