Today I passed through the Tambak Johor (Johor Causeway) CIQ – a ridiculously small customs and immigration for one of the busiest border crossings around – on its last day. So busy in fact, that Malaysian passport holders are just waved through – though, non-Malaysians suffer intolerable waits to get their passport stamped. The new Bkt Changar CIQ will start operations tomorrow, while I plan to transfer a ridiculous amount of things across the border.

Chaos is predicted. While eventually Malaysians will be made to suffer the indignity of getting our passport scanned (as in the Second Link’s Tanjung Kupang’s CIQ), I predict tomorrow, Malaysians will just be waved through. I hope. Cross fingers.
