I watched Persepolis, a French arthouse animation dubbed in English that is a brilliant portrayal of the history of modern Iran. Brilliant animation – I have never watch such a good film done that way. Emotions shown with such simple drawings: and most of the time, colourless (sepia and black).

The film is, for the most part, a flashback on an asylum seeker – and brilliant funny with a arthouse-y [spoiler alert] sad ending. As it was dealing with the aftermath of the Islamic Revolution, I can’t help but wonder though if Malaysia is heading to the direction of Iran. Yeah, Sunni instead of Shi’ite – wow, huge difference there. Would one day Malaysian girls be banned from running?
